This research paper explores the dimensions i.e. population, optimal size and radius of sustainable urban neighbourhood (SUN), with a focus on achieving inclusivity and diversity, better economic opportunities and reducing environmental impact. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, incorporating surveys, case studies, and literature reviews to gather comprehensive data. Gurugram, a rapidly developing urban area over the past few decades, serves as the primary case study location. The case study of Gurugram provides practical insights into the implementation of sustainable practices in urban planning. Additionally, a thorough literature review contextualizes the findings within existing research on sustainable urban development. 92% of the respondents said that they would prefer to send their kids to school that are within 5-10 minutes of walking distance. The results of this study will contribute to the development of guidelines for designing urban neighbourhoods that are environmentally sustainable, socially inclusive and economically productive.
